The Strength and Mindset Approach
Skills before loads!
We are dedicated to creating a strength and conditioning coaching programme that caters towards improving your physical performance markers (strength and cardio-vascular output, strength endurance, balance, skills, coordination, mobility, flexibility etc).
But we don't jump into it head first, we have a very cautious approach, so please don't expect a 100kg loaded barbell on your first session or many after that.
Confidence comes from knowledge and having a strategic approach to lifting.
There is more to exercising than to just follow instructions, you will understand the why and how of lifting, making this perhaps one the best investments you will make towards your physical strength and mental resilience in a while!
Mobility will always be in fashion
Range of motion is very important in life, to help us prevent injuries, but also in training.
At The Strength and Mindset Studio executing exercises in their full range of motion is very important part of our strength and conditioning training sessions, and we aim for all members to achieve that, unless they have injuries or special circumstances.
For most people that have reduced mobility, it's a long and frustrating process, but if you are in this for the long run and you understand it's a marathon and not a sprint, great things will happen!
Just hang in there. We’ve got you.

You’ll join for the training but you’ll get so much more from your membership

We care about you. Being part of a community where everybody knows you, means when you are not around for a while you are missed! We will surely notice if you are skipping your training and we will reach out, and maybe your friends from the studio too!
On the mindset and psychological front we maintain an open environment for mental support and discussions where we can pretty much talk about anything under the Sun. We make ourselves reachable and we keep an open line.

“One skip is an exception, the second time it becomes the habit.”
Being present at sessions even on days you don't feel 100% is a sign of resilience, but sending your brain the message that you are in this for the long run is not an easy task, especially with so many temptations!
One of the most common ones we hear about is overworking and very little self care. But just remember, next time you are in a situation of having to push yourself to one side for the benefit of your employer or business, you can give more and be more productive when you feel good about yourself, when you are healthy, confident, rested and strong!

We love data and numbers, so we work very hard towards progressively and safely planning the increase in your loads and improving your skills for you to be ready in time for the testing period!
We are not big fans of guess-work because it doesn't keep us safe, but also it doesn't tap into our real strength potential. And probably this one of the biggest difference that sets our strength and conditioning coaching apart from Personal Training.
Our members can record their performance progress via our app and we use that data to form future targets and comparisons, but also to set the intensity of present sessions. We like to quantify progress, so that you feel like you are working towards something challenging, but achievable!
The goal post will keep moving, but that is the beauty of the human body, there is an endless amount of skill and strength we can aim for!

No judgement allowed, just care and respect!
We offer transitional 1:1 sessions, for a period of time, to help you prepare for the small group sessions (4:1). Whether you feel you don't have the confidence yet or you feel you need to build a bit more strength to train with your peers, we will work on that together!
We provide a safe, non-judgemental, mirror-free space, and invite you to come as you are.

Firstly - because it is semi private coaching, very similar to personal coaching, but better! It is not a large class, where risk of injury is high, you get plenty of coaching time at your own pace, feedback, privacy and you can still have your own speed whilst feeling part of a wonderful small team with like minded people. And secondly because we have truly invested in our education and experience for many years through achieving masters degree, weightlifting, gymnastics, cross-fit certifications and having taught powerlifting workshops. We continuously look to develop and evolve and we get taught by some of the best coaches in the industry.
-
You can book in for a trial session to see if we are the right fit first, and if you’d like to become a member we’ll get you set up with a rolling monthly membership and access to our app where you can book your sessions.
Please contact us beforehand if you have any special requirements or if we have to be aware of any injuries or medical conditions.
