24/365 - Dream big, even when you hit rock bottom

I was walking down the street with her and I was in the middle of a very important sentence when she cuts in:

She: “Oh my God!”

Me: “What? What happened?”

From the tone, I thought that she got hurt.

She: “This is the car of my dreams!”, she pointed to a new, black Range Rover next to us in a high-pitched, dramatic voice.

Oh my God, did I give her a good shake!

Let me give you a bit of context.

In 2009 when I decided to leave Romania, my best friend said that she will come with me. But she stayed for another three years to finish her degree and a not so great relationship.

If she would ever tell the stories of all the things she has been through - but she is not that kind of person… yet!

She came to London fully buried in debts and broken-hearted, from a top level management position to working in a hotel as a maid.

She rebuilt her life from scratch and I think she is inspirational!

A bookworm, clean freak, stylish, fighter, intelligent and gorgeous woman. If I tell her that I love her she wants to punch me in the face, because she does not like cheesy things. Even so, It feels like we are each others number one fans.

I met her when I was 20, in Bucharest, at the restaurant I was working in. She was all smiles and jokes, red haired and nail polish with flowers. That is just the surface, she is a very intense person!

That day she was teaching me a very important lesson, but I was too young to see. I did what a 25 year old with a limited view of the world would do, serve her the brutal truth about her situation.

Firstly - she was not an idiot, she knew! And secondly to ability to dream and to be a visionary is what sets the world apart! She had that quality through her worst time.

She does not even remember this happening, but I do and she can definitely afford a Range Rover now. I will not attach a picture of her, she is not ready.

Today I am all about creating a vision and I try to encourage everyone to dream big, especially the kids. It gives you purpose, drive and it gets rid of the noise in the background.

If you can dream it, you can be it, right?
