4/365 - The Law of Attraction is a weird thing

13th of August 2009 and 4 days to go till London.

Clearly the subject of money came up multiple times. I was €1,000 short, thanks to that Earls Court flat scam and I was still very affected by it. My friend had found that ad and needless to say she was not feeling better either. We were so young!

I kept trying to get my money back and I was sending as many emails as I possibly could to the companies involved, but it was time to face reality and start breathing normally so, reluctantly I decided to let it go. Silviu still had a job, we were not big spenders, we will manage somehow.

A friend calls us and asks if we can meet him up for drinks later that day, that was a pretty normal routine for us at the time, it was as normal as me wearing a dress every single day. We meet up and as we were getting ready to leave he gives us €1,000 for a favour I did him a while back. I did it because it was the correct thing to do, I was not expecting any money and he did not know about the scam, that was not something you wanted to bring the trumpet out and brag about, especially in 2009. I normally would not have taken that money, but the moment could not have been more favourable. Maybe one day I will be ready to talk about that favour, it was a risky thing, but I am not there yet.

The thing I always found intriguing about this story was the timing, such a narrow window! Although the favour had happened months before I only got offered the money after I decided to take the leap. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I want to put this out there in the hopes it might spark someone’s imagination to dare to dream and take a leap of faith, because sometimes amazing things do happen.

I would love to know what you think.

What is your story? That time when things just fell inexplicably into place for you. You were not sure in the beginning, but then you made a commitment and opportunities started appearing.

Commitment, action, visualisation and faith!

You got this!
